We’re really excited to say that the UK Charity Digital Benchmarks Study is back. Once again we’ll be partnering with M+R to bring comprehensive digital benchmark data to the UK across a wide range of disciplines including fundraising, digital advertising, email and social media.
Want to know how much money is being raised by email?
Want to know what % of digital advertising budget is being spent in various channels?
Want to know what your donation page conversion rate should be?
Then this is the study for you. Read on. Or, if you’re ready to sign up, you can do that here.
The inaugural UK Digital Benchmarks Study was issued in July 2021. It gave participating charities accurate and relevant data to make smarter decisions about how to invest their time and budgets and where to focus their efforts to maximise the success of their digital programmes - and therefore the positive change we can all bring about in the world.
Want to refresh your memory on what it’s all about? Here’s a link to the last report.
The first study looked at digital performance up to the end of 2020. We think it’s fair to say that ‘a lot’ has happened since then. The pandemic has fundamentally changed how we use digital channels in our day to day lives - to work, communicate and even to socialise. The next study will show us what’s been happening in digital post COVID lockdown as well as the emerging impact of the cost of living crisis.
Once again, participating charities will get a personalised report that sets out their own performance as well as how the rest of the sector is fairing to gain that all important wider context for their future digital plans.
We’ve been speaking to past participants and already have 15 charities signed up for the next study, including Greenpeace, Refuge and Shelter. We’re hopeful that many more will join them.
If you want your charity to be part of the study, then you can sign up right here.
The study will cover 2021 and 2022 calendar year data. Registration will close before Christmas and data will be due in February 2023. The report will be launched in July 2023. We’ve frozen the fee at the 2020 level, £1,200.
The first study provided digital benchmark data to help everyone in the sector to raise their digital ambition and gain a better understanding of what excellent looks like.
Our key takeaways were:
1. More people are giving online. What are we doing to engage and mobilise them?
2. We need to transform our approach to email to unleash its full potential.
3. We need to build our whole digital ecosystem, not individual channels in isolation.
We know that it’s an invaluable resource for digital fundraisers and campaigners across the sector:
We’ve seen Rally’s clients improving their digital performance and being able to make business cases to test new activity. We can’t wait to see what nuggets of information surface in the next report, so we can use these insights to improve our understanding of digital performance and drive even better results.
If you’d like to take part in the study to benchmark your performance, you can sign up here. Or we’re always happy to chat - just email us at ukbenchmarks@wearerally.co.uk.
