How Do We Engage With The New UK Labour Government?

Change, change, change. The UK public were asked to vote for it.

And OMG did they deliver.

But what now?

How does the NGO & campaigns sector engage with, influence and hold a new Labour government to account?

We aren’t arrogant enough to say we know all the answers. No one can say they do. This isn’t 1997, our experiences from then are useful but not the complete answer. The UK political context, society, culture, human behaviour and technology is radically different from the last time Labour was in power.

One thing we are sure of though, is that we can help find the answers. And we’ve been engaged in this work for months now.

With our close friends and frequent partners Forward Action we’ve already run two events, where we brought the people from across the sector together to meet, make connections, share inspiration and learn from some incredible speakers. Check out the agenda and participants for each event below.

Here’s a flavour of the last event on the 06 June.

We plan to do more of these events. We think the sector needs to come together more often, talk, be inspired and build collaborative relationships, and we’re dedicated to helping make this happen.

The next event will be focussed on our collective experiences of the first few months of the new government. Keep an eye on our social media channels for details.
